Victron Energy Shunt 1000A/50mV is a precision current shunt for measuring DC current in high-power electrical systems. It is used as a measuring element with Victron Energy battery monitors, including BMV models, to monitor current flowing through a battery bank or DC bus.

The shunt measures the small voltage drop across its precision 50 mV sensing element. With a rated current of 1000 A, it is suitable for high-power battery systems, inverters, chargers and other DC applications where a standard 500 A shunt is not sufficient.

Key benefits

  • Rated current of up to 1000 A.
  • 50 mV measuring voltage drop.
  • Designed for high-current DC systems.
  • Can be used as an alternative to the standard 500 A/50 mV shunt in compatible BMV configurations.
  • Two M10 high-current terminals for reliable connection to DC cables and busbars.
  • Compact metal construction with mounting holes for fixed installation.

Applications

  • High-current battery systems.
  • Systems using Victron Energy inverters and chargers.
  • Campervans, caravans and high-consumption mobile power systems.
  • Marine electrical systems.
  • Stationary off-grid and autonomous power systems.
  • Current measurement with Victron Energy BMV battery monitors.

Connectivity and control

Victron Energy Shunt 1000A/50mV does not have built-in Bluetooth, a display or a communication port. It is connected to a compatible battery monitor or measuring module, which detects the voltage drop across the shunt and calculates the flowing current.

During installation, the shunt must be placed in the main DC current path according to the wiring diagram of the selected monitor. Correct sizing of cables, fuses and connection hardware is essential for safe system operation.
