The Victron Energy BMV-700 is a high-precision battery monitor that measures voltage and current, then calculates amp-hours consumed, battery state of charge and remaining operating time. It provides a reliable view of the energy available in a battery system instead of relying only on instantaneous voltage readings.

The monitor is installed with the included 500 A / 50 mV shunt and is suitable for nominal 12 V, 24 V, 48 V and other DC battery systems within its operating range. The BMV-700 features a clear display, a programmable relay and VE.Direct communication for connection to Victron GX devices, a computer or a mobile device using an optional VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle.

Connectivity and control

The BMV-700 features a VE.Direct port for connection to Victron GX devices, a computer or other compatible components. VictronConnect access via Bluetooth requires an optional VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle, while computer connection via USB requires a VE.Direct to USB interface. When connected to a GX device, data can be viewed locally or remotely through the Victron VRM portal.

The monitor can also provide battery data through Victron VE.Smart Networking when used with a compatible Bluetooth connection, allowing parameters such as battery voltage and current to be used by compatible Victron solar chargers and AC chargers.
