Victron Energy Shunt 2000A/50mV – high-current measuring shunt

The Victron Energy Shunt 2000A/50mV is a precision passive shunt for measuring current in high-power DC systems. It produces a standardised 50 mV measurement drop at its rated current of 2000 A, allowing compatible battery monitors and measurement electronics to accurately determine the current flowing through the circuit.

This model is designed for powerful battery systems, inverter installations and other applications where standard shunts are not sufficient. It features M10 high-current terminals for secure connection in high-current DC installations.

Key benefits

  • Rated measurement current of up to 2000 A.
  • Standardised 50 mV measurement output at rated current.
  • Class 0.5 accuracy.
  • Suitable for high-current DC systems and large battery banks.
  • Three M10 high-current terminals.
  • Suitable for measurement systems designed for a 50 mV shunt, including applications with Victron BMV monitors.

Applications

  • Large battery banks and DC distribution systems.
  • High-power inverter and off-grid installations.
  • Stationary energy systems and technical rooms.
  • Marine, mobile and professional vehicles with high DC current requirements.

Connection and measurement

The shunt is installed in series with the DC circuit being measured. Measurement electronics detect the small voltage difference across the shunt and convert it into information about the current flow. For correct operation, use a battery monitor or measuring module configured for a 2000 A/50 mV shunt.
