Victron SmartShunt 500A – Smart Battery Monitor

Victron Energy SmartShunt 500A is an intelligent battery monitor with a 500 A / 50 mV shunt for accurate measurement of current and voltage in DC battery systems. It calculates state of charge, time to go and amp-hours, while also recording historical battery data such as deepest discharge, average discharge and charge/discharge cycles.

SmartShunt has no built-in display; your smartphone or tablet becomes the display through Bluetooth and the VictronConnect app. This provides a compact monitoring solution with less wiring and less panel clutter than a traditional battery monitor. The unit can also be connected to a GX device through VE.Direct for local monitoring and remote access through the VRM portal.

Connectivity and control

Bluetooth and VictronConnect provide access to measured parameters, configuration settings and historical data, including deepest discharge, average discharge and the number of charge and discharge cycles. When connected to a GX device, SmartShunt data can be viewed locally or remotely through the VRM portal.

The auxiliary input can be configured for monitoring a second battery, a battery-bank midpoint or temperature. A VE.Direct to USB interface is required for USB connection to a computer.
